EXFLAM contains Diclofenac which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which reduces pain and inflammation. It is used to treat mild to moderate muscle and joint pains (sprains, strains, bruises, backache, sports injuries) contusions, post-traumatic pain, tendonitis (tennis elbow) and osteoarthritis pain in the knees. Diclofenac sodium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory with analgesic properties. It inhibits the enzyme, cyclooxygenase (COX), which is an early component of the arachidonic acid cascade, resulting in the reduced formation of prostaglandins, thromboxanes and prostacylin.

Always use this EXFLAM as prescribed by your doctor. Before using, tell your doctor if you have any kidney, liver or heart diseases, are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not suitable for use in children and adolescents below 14 years of age. The common side effects are skin redness, inflammation or swelling. Do not apply this medicine to injured or infected skin. In case of accidental contact with eyes, mucous membranes, rinse the affected area completely with running water.
