Reverse Osmosis Membrane & Housing

The ion filtration process is facilitated through the utilization of semi-permeable membrane filter elements, where pressure is applied to the water. The membrane housing, functioning as a pressure vessel, accommodates these membrane elements in a reverse osmosis water treatment system. Reverse osmosis is employed for desalting raw water, reducing total dissolved solids by up to 98%, as depicted in the Reverse Osmosis Components figure on page 10. The specifications for two types of reverse osmosis membranes, LP21-4040 and LP 22 8040, include size, permeate rate, active membrane area, operating temperature and pressure, rejection rate, and a lifespan of 2-3 years. This system, recognized as the most advanced desalination equipment for homes and industries, utilizes RO membranes to eliminate organic matter, bacteria, and viruses. The outcome is low-salt water with low total dissolved solids and high purity. Continuous washing of the membrane filter elements is necessary during the filtration process, ensuring a pollution-free system.
