Though induction motors need to be started directly on line, when large motors are started this way, it may tend to cause a disturbance of voltage on the supply lines. To avoid this problem, large induction motors are mostly started at reduced voltage and then reconnected with full supply voltage. And there are two methods to reduce the starting voltage, one is star delta starting, and the other one is autotransformer starting. This starter operates on 440V AC, 50 Hz AC supply, and can be operated both manually and automatically. They are not only simple to operate, but also, are ready to install and use once they are wall-mounted.
